Do we dare believe in dragons? But can we dismiss the existence of that fire-breathing, flying monster who has fascinated and terrified humans since the dawn of civilization? Zoologically extinct, the dragon lives on in human imagination, and we are going to explore its habits and habitats. Whether in the realm of reality or imagination, dragons are nothing short of fascinating. These wonderful creatures are the embodiment of majesty, wisdom, and raw power. They fear nothing. They come in all sizes, shapes, colors and temperaments. Their diversity reflects ours. The dragon is beautiful, and we must do our best to educate the ignorant ones who would vanquish them. They are creatures of legend, often misunderstood. We fear what we don't understand. We must open our eyes and see the dragons that live among us. We must open our hearts and learn to love them. And finally we must open our minds, because we have so much to learn.

THE DRAGON

Mystic wings carry thee,
Unveiling mist on edge of sea.
Halo of smoke with scales for mail,
Breath of fire beyond ceptored tail.
Condemned by knight to a murky cell.
Deception lures the story doth tell.

Come forth the day a new dawn breaks,
Thrice the call of freedom makes.
Once betrayed twice denied,
Never more to run and hide.
Mighty roar like heavens thunder,
Eyes of ice view evil asunder.

Righteous courage guides path of flight,
Sword of darkness wanes to soul of light.
Crimson tide flows through open scars,
Evils reign hath lost the war.
Heal thy wounds of battles past,
Intertwine thy heart with soul at last.

Slumber peaceful oh dragon friend,
Make real the dreams at visions end.
Return to earth of rightful place,
Denounce all doubt with wisdom's face.
Known now to all your valiant deed,
Winged fire; to watch and heed.
